Historical note- Disco Doc
gave a 1 hour performance
at Waikiki disco for University of Hawaii art professor
Yida Yang and her husband, Lucky Janji, both having
exhibited their works many times in local museum. The
approach of the dancer was to do disco dancing with
the goal of making it look like Gestural and Contour
Figure Drawing modeling for the trained artist's eye.

Disco Roots - Tracing the rise of disco music
from soul of the early 60's through to
disco & jazz funk of the mid
80's
To a radio programming officer, the peak musical
periods of the last half century were:
1955-57, when rock 'n' roll emerged
as a major force, led by artists such
as Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley.
1964, when The Beatles made their
first U.S. tour.
1967-1969, when guitarist Jimi
Hendrix's explosive style began to
galvanize a generation of musicians
and fans.
1973-80 - Disco, the most explosive dance
rhythms of the new age of popular music
1980-81, when punk rock and rap
emerged.
A "mini-peak" in 1990-91, when
grunge came to the fore, and hip-hop
had one of its better creative periods.
